While we do not discriminate based on modes of distribution, there is a reason why the majority of bands and artists on our site are either unsigned or on smaller indie labels and that’s because that is where the best rock and roll action is. And the Rock and Roll Report is “niche-free.” We’re not falling into the trap of over-classifying our rock and roll. Regardless of whether it is punk, powerpop, hard rock, psychedelia or any of the hundreds of niches foisted onto us by record labels and the media, we know what rocks our world and that’s all that matters to us. Hell, isn’t variety of influences part of the fun of listening to rock and roll in the first place?
